Pallet Truck Shop, the UK’s largest supplier of pallet and sack trucks, has welcomed the latest report from Savills UK about the continued growth in the UK logistics market.

Despite challenges posed by economic uncertainty, the logistics sector remains buoyant, with a slight rise in take-up and increasing supply nationwide. Pallet Truck Shop views this, as well as its own growing order book and robust demand for its manual handling equipment, as a strong indication that the industry is set for a promising year.

According to the report, 2024 marked the fifth-best year for logistics take-up outside the pandemic period, with 27.97 million square feet transacted across 116 deals. Demand for high-quality grade A units rose to 77% of the total market, with a preference for modern, efficient facilities.

Phil Chesworth, Managing Director of Pallet Truck Shop, is optimistic about the industry’s trajectory.

He said, “The latest data from Savills confirms what we’ve been seeing in our own operations: a logistics market that is not only resilient but also poised for significant growth. As businesses look to optimise their operations, demand for reliable and affordable manual handling equipment continues to surge.”

The report also points to a broader diversification of occupier mix and a growing trend of near-shoring and reshoring, with manufacturing companies accounting for 32% of the market in 2024. These trends, coupled with increased online retail activity and robust Black Friday and festive sales, are creating a fertile ground for growth across the logistics sector.

“This positive momentum in the logistics market must go hand in hand with efficient, pocket-friendly handling equipment. At Pallet Truck Shop, we’re proud to support businesses of all sizes by providing durable, high-quality solutions to capitalise on the opportunities presented by a thriving logistics industry.

“With strong demand already driving our growing order book across categories like pallet trucks, electric lift tables and manual stackers, we’re confident that 2025 will be a milestone year for both the industry and our customers.”
